Enable overdraft protection to keep your account from over drafting when you write a check or swipe your debit card but don't have sufficient funds in your account to cover the balance. Overdraft protection links your checking account to a savings account or line of credit, and uses that account to fund transactions that would have otherwise triggered an overdraft fee. There is no fee to use this service.
