We answered a few questions that we thought you might have about our new name and brand, and what you can expect with the change.
For more than 75 years, Associated Credit Union of Texas has been a credit union that cares deeply—putting members first, building lifelong relationships, and working every day to strengthen our communities. While that foundation will never change, it was time our brand get an update. We’ve evolved into a sophisticated, digitally-savvy financial institution with a bar-none banking experience that rivals even the biggest banks and fintechs. It became clear that our identity did not fully capture that spirit of innovation, nor the scale of our community impact. Our brand needed to catch up with our story. Inspired by our Texas roots, Openland Credit Union exudes local pride, while reinforcing our unshakable commitment to opening new doors of opportunity and creating space for more of what matters to our members and their families.
It’s no secret the world is changing. That means our communities are evolving, as well. To stay ahead of your needs and to make sure we’re showing up for all our members in the most helpful, relevant ways possible, we need a brand that clearly and confidently represents exactly who we are and what we stand for.
No. We’re still the same member-owned, community-focused credit union that we’ve always been. The updated Openland brand is meant to prove to our members and to the community that we are 100% invested in being our best selves for you. We have no plans of slowing down or changing ownership.
Openland is inspired by the wide-open landscapes that define Texas—places of possibility, growth, and space for dreams to take shape. It reflects our belief that opportunity lives everywhere, and that with the right support, people can build a future as expansive as the world around them. The name represents a financial home that is both welcoming and full of exciting potential.
“Space for more.” expresses our belief that everyone deserves room to pursue what matters most to them. Whether that’s better financial opportunities, stronger community investment or simply more quality time with family, Openland provides access to the space, guidance, and resources they need to make it happen.
Along with our new name, logo, and tagline, you will see a refreshed visual system begin to show up around the community. This includes a new color palette, distinct design, and photography that reflects everyday life in Texas. You may also notice a difference in how we communicate. Moving forward, our voice will be clearer, more down to earth, and rooted in the good-natured helpfulness you would expect from a knowledgeable neighbor.
The products you use, the faces you see inside our branches, and all your important account information will remain the same. Your banking experience will remain as exceptional and personalized as ever.
All current branding will be updated, starting with our website, social channels, advertising, and printed materials. Our digital banking experience will be refreshed with the new Openland branding but functionally will remain the same. Starting this spring, our signage and in-branch experiences will be refreshed, as well.
In short, it won’t. The new Openland brand will not impact your account information, day-to-day processes, or the level of service we provide. What it will do is provide a clearer sense of who we are and what we stand for.
No. All our services will continue as they do today. Our online banking and mobile apps will now feature the Openland logo and colors, but the functionality will remain the same.
Yes. These cards will only be replaced once they expire. At that time, a new Openland card will be mailed to you, just as is done currently.
Yes. You may continue to use your existing checks until your current supply runs out. Then, you will order new Openland checks the same way you do now.
Yes. All your account details will remain the same.
