Openland Credit Union has been ranked the No. 2 credit union in Texas and named to the Forbes list of America's Best-In-State Credit Unions 2026. The prestigious, national annual ranking, presented in partnership with Statista, recognizes top-performing credit unions delivering strong member experiences across the country. This distinction places Openland among a select group of credit unions consistently recognized for excellence.

"While awards are gratifying, what matters most is what they represent," said Clay Franks, president and CEO of Openland Credit Union. "It speaks to the trust our members place in us and the relationships we have built within the communities we serve."

America's Best-In-State Credit Unions highlights institutions that excel in delivering trusted financial services and meaningful member experiences at the local level. Rankings are based on an independent survey of 26,000 U.S. consumers nationwide, along with publicly available reviews and ratings. The survey accounts for 80% of each institution's score, while reviews and ratings account for 20%.

According to Forbes and Statista, institutions are evaluated across key criteria including trust, customer satisfaction, financial advice, digital services, and member service. Rankings reflect overall performance and member sentiment, with top institutions recognized in each state.

Forbes began its Best-In-State rankings in 2018, recognizing banks and credit unions that operate in fewer than 15 states, are not online-only providers, and demonstrate strong community-based financial relationships. The complete 2026 list is available on the Forbes website.
